Health alerts: Bird flu virus kills a person in Vietnam

Status: High risk. Vietnams Health Ministry confirmed death of a 40-year-old man from northern Hai Duong province on 13th February 2008. It was found that the man had slaughtered two dead chickens for his meal, later he was admitted to the city-based Tropical Diseases Hospital. In medical examination, it was found that his lungs and kidneys were damaged by the infection. Some dead chickens were found around his house over the past few weeks.
